Metheringham Fayre & Feast 2025 Recap: Highlights, Photos & Fun

Metheringham Fayre and feast

Metheringham came alive once again this weekend as the historic Fayre and Feast returned in spectacular fashion – a vibrant celebration of Lincolnshire’s heritage, people, and produce.

Dating back to the Middle Ages, the Fayre and Feast has seen several revivals throughout its long history. It first reemerged in the 1960s, running successfully for three decades before fading once more, only to be revived again in 2016. Sadly, that revival was short-lived, ending in 2018 due to rising costs and a shortage of volunteers. But two years ago, under the guidance of Metheringham Parish Council, the village reignited this beloved tradition – and the 2025 event proved to be its most successful revival yet, with Stance at it’s helm keeping everyone safe and all possible occurences considered and prevented.

Take a trip down memory lane and see the Fayre & Feast from the 1960’s to 2006!

Fun For Everyone!

This year’s theme, “Celebrating Lincolnshire”, paid heartfelt tribute to the county’s people, produce, and unmistakable yellow-belly pride. Every detail – from the food stalls to the live acts – was chosen to showcase the very best of Lincolnshire’s creativity and community spirit.

The festivities began at 2pm with a dazzling opening ceremony on the High Street, where local radio personality John Marshall crowned the eagerly anticipated “Ruler of the Feast.” From that moment, the village buzzed with energy and excitement.

With the Fayre expanded across the High Street, Middle Street, the village hall car park, and the top field near the funfair, there was more room than ever for celebration. Families, visitors, and locals alike were treated to a packed schedule of free entertainment and attractions throughout the day.

Thrill seekers took on the challenge of a 26ft climbing wall, while others tested their putting skills on the crazy golf course or enjoyed a touch of magic with a live magician’s show. The family dog show brought plenty of wagging tails and laughter, and the crowd was delighted by special guest appearances from Spiderman and The Hulk, much to the children’s delight.

Stance within the Community

As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting local events, we at Stance Security were proud to play a role in keeping the Metheringham Fayre and Feast safe and enjoyable for everyone. Our team worked closely with event organisers to provide a reassuring and professional presence throughout the day, ensuring visitors could relax and make the most of the festivities.

It was also a fantastic opportunity for our detection dogs to be out and about within the crowds — engaging with the public, demonstrating their skills, and helping to maintain a positive and secure atmosphere. We were thrilled by the warm welcome they received from attendees, and it was great to see how their presence added both safety and smiles to such a well-loved community event.

Community is at the heart of everything we do at Stance Security, and supporting local groups like the 1st Metheringham Scout Group is something we’re especially proud of. At the Fayre and Feast, we had the pleasure of engaging with the Scouts and Cubs, and beyond the day itself, we regularly work with the group through detection dog exposure training sessions, offering the young members a unique, hands-on learning experience. It’s been a rewarding way to inspire curiosity, build confidence, and strengthen our connection with the next generation of community-minded locals.

The Fayre and Feast carried on until late into the evening, with laughter, music, and the scent of good food filling the air. Organised entirely by volunteers from the Metheringham Events Group, with support from Metheringham Parish Council, the event stood as a shining example of what a community can achieve when it comes together

Whether you were a lifelong local, a proud Lincolnshire native, or simply visiting for the day, the Metheringham Fayre and Feast 2025 offered something for everyone — a joyful revival of tradition and togetherness. As the lights dimmed and the final notes faded, one thing was clear: the spirit of the Fayre and Feast is alive and well in Metheringham once more.
